Referral to the service is via:
- Local alcohol and other drug services
- Medical Practitioners
- Residential treatment providers
- Self referral
Wings caters for clients aged 20yrs and over.
Clients are generally funded by way of sickness benefit.
Clients are able to stay at Wings Trust for a period of four months. This is negotiable up to six months on a case by case basis.
Financial Information:
During their stay at Wings clients on a sickness benefit will receive a personal allowance of up to approximately $50.00 per week, less any personal debt. This is paid directly into clients' bank accounts and is to cover personal expenditure.
In some circumstances, clients may be eligible to apply to WINZ to have some essential costs covered during their stay. Information can be provided during assessment or on application made on entry into Wings
What to bring:
- Personal spending money for the first week.
- Appropriate clothing
- Toiletries and a towel.
- Community services card.
- Current medication.
Family/Whanau:
Family/whanau are welcome to visit outside group hours and are actively encouraged to participate in the program with the consent of their family member. Family counselling can be arranged. A series of family workshops are commencing late 2008.

Family and Friends group is a six week programme run by the CADS units and is recommended to family members. For more information contact CADS on (09)845 1818. Brochures are available on request.
Children up to age 14 are welcome to stay for one or two nights at the weekend with their parent. Please contact the Manager for more information. |
